Ernest Lepore is an American philosopher and cognitive scientist. He is Acting Director of the Rutgers Center for Cognitive Science, and a professor at Rutgers University. He is well known for his work on the philosophy of language and mind, often in collaboration with Jerry Fodor, Herman Cappelen and Kirk Ludwig, as well as his work on philosophical logic and the philosophy of Donald Davidson. Lepore earned his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. Among his doctoral students are Kent Johnson, Adam Sennet, Sam Cumming, Will Starr, Michael Johnson, Tom Donaldson, Luvell Anderson and Josh Armstrong.
